On Going Inward

I’ve been recently reading an article about the meaning of Autumn in traditional Chinese medicine.

Autumn is a natural time of the year to switch from the “outgoing” spirit of Summer to going inward, resting, sleeping more, and letting go of those things which no longer serve you.

This will help you to make space for the new, and frees up space for feelings of clarity, new energy and focus.

Although I’m more of a Summer person l love Autumn’s colours and light and this feeling of introspection!

What about you?

The article also made me think about how exhaustion, being busy and overworked, and hustling are constantly applauded and encouraged by our culture these days.

If you’re overworking yourself you’re successful. If you’re exhausted you’re successful. This is a belief that many career changers or entrepreneurs have.

When I was starting my own business I wanted to have more free time but I quickly found myself in the business run (networking, marketing, content creation, speaking, learning, creating products, working with clients, attending conferences, being on social media….).

I like all those steps and activities, don’t get me wrong, and I know that it takes time and hard work to change your career and build your business. But I know the importance of going inward, retreating, reflecting, resting and making space for the new. And when in doubt I reconnect with „why” I changed my career path.

I’m all about creating a business around your own desired lifestyle.

So today I’m inviting you to go inward and you’ll find a new career or business vision!
