How Much Do You Value Yourself?

My intention for today was to share with you the step by step plan of a successful job search. However this week I am reading a very interesting book by Kate Northrup “Money: A Love Story”. I highly recommend you to read this book, it will change your views and beliefs about money. Read it with an open mind! I have a question and a challenge for you today:

How much do you value yourself?

There is a saying “If you can’t see your value the world will not give you the value back”. I am not talking about the financial value, of course, it is also very important, but about self-value and self-love.  The important step to create a successful career, to get a job you want or have a thriving business is to get started seeing how valuable you are:  The question here is “How do you see yourself?”.

Start with the inner work first! Start to take yourself seriously if you want your boss to take you seriously.  Do you want to have a wonderful relationship start to love yourself first! It seems to be easy but in reality, it takes a lot of energy to value yourself and recognize your gifts. Kate Northrup in “Money: A Love Story!” says: “The most important asset in your life is you, so why not bring out the big guns and just start there?”

I see so many people who undervalue their selves. Today I am inviting you to create more value in your life.

1. First I want you to answer the question “How do you see yourself?” It can be about how do you see yourself in your personal, professional life or both. Write down things you are happy about, the things you value about yourself and the ones you want to improve.

2. Then I want you to choose three things you value most about yourself. For example “I have a solid experience in international sales. I have beautiful and healthy hair…” It can be something that you like about yourself. Be specific!

3. Here comes the challenge for you. I want you to spend 5 minutes for the next 21 days to write down 3 things you value about yourself. You can set up a reminder on your phone or computer and spend 5 minutes to create more value in your life.

As you know it takes 21 days of doing something new for it to become a habit. Let’s start the habit of valuing yourself. After 21 days ask yourself How do you feel? How people around you see you and respond to you? Can you notice the difference! The time spent on valuing yourself will bring you results in your personal and professional life and also make people around you feel better. Put yourself on the top. You are worth creating more value in your life and share it with others. Do you accept the challenge? I am more than sure you do.
